FTPO proud of the support of the leading companies in the Slovenian economy

Murska Sobota, October 10, 2024 – Yesterday, the recipient of the prestigious title Factory of the Year 2024 was announced in Murska Sobota, which was won by Siliko from Vrhnika, co-founder of the Faculty of Polymer Technology (FTPO). Siliko, a company engaged in the development and production of technical products made of elastomers, thermoplastics, and silicone, impressed the expert committee and earned this prestigious title. Another company from the circle of FTPO co-founders, Plastika Skaza d.o.o., also competed in the final selection. Last year, the title of Factory of the Year 2023 went to Roto Group, also a co-founder of FTPO, which further confirms that the faculty is supported by leading representatives of the Slovenian economy.

The Factory of the Year selection, organized by the newspaper Finance, is now in its seventh consecutive year and is part of the Izvozniki.si movement. The initial selection of companies is made by event partner KPMG Business Consulting based on key indicators from the applications. The finalists are determined by an expert committee after reviewing the production processes of the selected companies, and the final winner is selected at the closing event, which was hosted this year by last year's winner, Roto Pavlinjek. This year's expert committee was led by Anton Papež, who was joined by Stanka Šarc Majdič, member of the management board of SID Bank, Stane Merše, director of the Center for Energy Efficiency at the Jožef Stefan Institute, and Matjaž Pavlinjek from Roto Group.

In addition to Silika, the finalists included Elpro Križnič, a manufacturer of electrical power equipment, and Plastika Skaza, which manufactures injection-molded plastic products for various industries.

According to Sabina Petrov, editor of the Factory of the Year project, the selection represents an opportunity to showcase the best practices of Slovenian industrial companies in the areas of production digitization, technological advancement, energy efficiency, and concern for sustainable business and employees.

At the Faculty of Polymer Technology, we are extremely proud that our co-founding structure consists of leading companies that are among the most successful representatives of the Slovenian economy.

Sincere congratulations to Siliko d.o.o. for winning the title of Factory of the Year 2024, and congratulations also to Plastika Skaza and the other finalists.
