Research Visit by VitalizeDx to UP FTPO within the ReSilience Project

On 19 August 2026, the Faculty of Polymer Technology of the University of Primorska (UP FTPO) hosted Dr. Lavinia Alberi Auber and Giulia Corazza from the Swiss company VitalizeDx, which develops the Lavinia digital health platform for monitoring athlete health and performance.

The guests first toured the faculty premises and state-of-the-art laboratories, followed by a working meeting as part of the ReSilience project. Funded by the Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse), the project is led by VitalizeDx in collaboration with the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and other Swiss partners. The primary goal of the project is to develop a wearable biosensor that measures key indicators of physiological resilience and stress from athletes' saliva.

UP FTPO contributes its expertise in polymer materials to the project by developing the biosensor’s recognition layer based on molecularly imprinted polymers, enabling selective detection of target biomarkers. Through this collaboration, the faculty is expanding its research scope from polymer technology into medical and sports diagnostics.

A highlight of the visit was dedicated to presenting and testing VitalizeDx's solutions. Utilizing artificial intelligence, these technologies enable real-time analysis of biological, physiological, and psychological markers, predict risks of overtraining and insufficient recovery, and provide personalized recommendations for coaches and sports teams.

The visit took place in an exceptionally creative atmosphere and confirmed that UP FTPO's knowledge of polymer materials can directly contribute to advanced health and sports solutions. The faculty looks forward to further collaboration.
