Signing a memorandum of understanding for leasing a new laboratory

The date, 14th of February 2019, has become a major milestone for the Faculty of Polymer Technology. At 9 a.m. in the FTPO's meeting room, was held a festive event signing a memorandum of understanding for leasing a new laboratory between representatives of FTPO; director Maja Mešl and dean doc. Dr. Thomas Wilhelm and representatives of a company NIG nadzor, inženiring in gradbeništvo d.o.o.; director Samo Pikl and director Zoran Pratneker. The company, which is currently in the stage of acquiring the building permit, estimates that the construction will be completed in September 2019.

New laboratory for the processing and characterization of materials, with 360 m2 and less than 200 meters in the distance of the faculty building, will be an independent facility for the research activities of the faculty, pedagogical activity and for activities of cooperation with the economy. This is a great achievement of the Faculty of Polymer Technology, which was also an urgent need, since the faculty is in the growth phase of all its activities. Due to increased number of students, higher education teachers, colleagues and researchers, pieces of research equipment, research projects and projects of cooperation with the industry, we need a larger laboratory for processing and characterization to make further development possible.
