UP FTPO Hosts JKU Linz Erasmus Student for Vitrimer Research

Our Faculty is hosting Julia Hartwig, a bachelor’s student from Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz, Austria, for a two-month Erasmus traineeship running from 3 August to 2 October 2026.

During her stay, Julia is synthesising epoxy vitrimer formulations based on several dynamic chemistries. The main goal of her research is to characterise the processing conditions of these systems alongside their functional properties, such as self-healing and shape memory. Her results provide a crucial experimental baseline for cross-chemistry comparisons within the reCANet project, which aims to identify recyclable vitrimer resin systems suitable for composite applications.

Beyond her productive hours in the laboratory, Julia seamlessly integrated into the FTPO team. She quickly found her place within the collective, taking full advantage of opportunities for joint social activities and exploring the local surroundings.
